What is self-leadership?
Self-leadership is the ability to guide and manage yourself: to set your own goals, take responsibility for your actions, and stay motivated without relying on external control. It involves self-awareness, discipline, and actively choosing how you think, act, and develop.
In the workplace, this may mean taking responsibility for prioritising the right tasks and independently driving your work forward – something that is important for both managers and employees. The ability to lead yourself is one of the most valuable skills in today’s working life, especially in organisations with remote or hybrid work.
A course in self-leadership
In our self-leadership course, we explore how you can find your own way to succeed at work, lead yourself to success, and create a motivating and sustainable working life with strong relationships. During the two course days, you will receive guidance and support from our experienced instructors, engage in discussions with other participants, and share your own experiences and challenges.
After completing the course, you will have gained practical tools to lead yourself and strengthen your self-reflection. The course will help you become more aware of how to navigate both your own planning and your interactions and communication with others.
The theoretical basis of our self-leadership course
Our self-leadership course is based on the Maximise Learning™ method. This approach is designed to enhance learning through three clear steps: BEFORE – DURING – AFTER. Throughout the programme, you will receive ongoing support and practical tips, and you will also be invited to a complimentary peer learning session three months after completing the course.
Course goals
The aim of New as manager is to provide basic knowledge and practical tools to help you feel confident and able to fully perform in your role as a manager. You will learn how to handle both ambiguous and concrete challenges, and apply your new insights directly in your day-to-day work.
Target group
The training is aimed at both leaders and employees in other roles and serves as foundational training for leadership programs as well as other specialized training programs.
